I've had USB HDDs fail on occasion and had to recreate the backups again on a new drive. This takes time, I just do it when I settle down for the evening. I mount my 'other' USB hard drives and click a button and wait, the files are copied to where I need them. I have made it somewhat automated by using SyncBack Pro to create Profiles to make the copies. I now make 4 copies of my backups for ALL my PCs I backup using Macrium Reflect. What I learned was that besides being more careful doing disk changes is to make more copies of my backup files. I can't remember what utility I used but it recovered the partition and found the files, it literally took days to do. I had the wrong drive selected while the USB drive was mounted and removed the partition. I've never done it for Macrium files, but have recovered other files after making the same blunder. This isn't really a MR issue, but one more than a few people have faced, so here goes. The Macrium Reflect Home Edition is Build 5994 version 8.0 Software currently available to us is MiniTool Partition Wizard (Pro Ultimate 12.5) and TestDisk 7.2 for Windows Will any of the existing partition recovery software restore the files to working order? The single GPT simple partition was deleted with diskpart in WIndows 10. Does anyone have any experience with this or a similar situation?Īn external USB 3.0 hard drive that is 8-TB in size containing about 3-TB of data files.
